Due to dismissal of Carola Duran after verifying that she was married, Dulcita Lieggi Francisco has been selected and crowned a newly Miss Republica Dominicana Universo 2012 by Magali Febles (Director of Miss Universe Dominican Republic) on wednesday 25th April, 2012.

Now, Dulcita Lieggi Francisco is an official representative of Dominican Republic in Miss Universe 2012 beauty contest which is the 61st edition of Miss Universe beauty contest which will be held at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on Wednesday night of 19th December, 2012.
