Zahida Begum : Miss Earth England 2012 |

Zahida Begum has been crowned Miss Earth England 2012 by outgoing beauty queen Roxanne Smith (Miss Earth England 2011) at the grand finale of Miss Earth England 2012 beauty contest at the Winter Gardens on Saturday coronation night of 1st September, 2012.
Zahida will represent England in the 12th edition of Miss Earth beauty pageant which will be held at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines on Saturday night of 24th November, 2012 where Miss Ecuador, Olga Alava (Miss Earth 2011 winner) will crown her successor.
Zahida gives a environmental message that “Treasure the earth we walk on, here today, gone tomorrow, so let’s take care of the world and everything in it.”
When asked Zahida Begum , “What environmental project will you create to promote the protection of Mother Earth and why?”
Zahida replied (in her own word), “I will create a video to inform children of all age about the importance and benefits of recycling now and in the future. As Miss Earth I would hopefully be a role model for children around the world and be more influential than their teachers or parents.”
When asked Zahida Begum about environmental advocacy and why did you choose it, she replied,
“Wind turbines at sea direct stronger and steadier winds so off shore wind farms deliver higher power than on shore wind farms. England is a small island so we can position wind turbines around properly to benefit enough areas.”
