Tamerin Jardine from Sandton has been crowned Miss Earth South Africa 2012 at the grand coronation night of Miss Earth South Africa 2012 beauty pageant finale at the Montecasino in Johannesburg on Saturday night of 25th August, 2012.

Tamerin Jardine will represent South Africa in the world’s Third biggest beauty pageant Miss Earth 2012. Miss Earth 2012 is the 12th edition of Miss Earth beauty pageant which will be held at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines on Saturday night of 24th November, 2012.

Tamerin says, “I truly want to leave a mark, a legacy and make a difference to something that I live and breathe for.”
When asked Tamerin Michelle Jardine, “What environmental project will you create to promote the protection of Mother Earth and why?”
Tamerin replied (in her own word), “I come from a country where we are rich in renewable energy sources such as solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy and wave energy. My goal is to create more sustainable energy in areas of my country that are under privileged to help alleviate power costs and also reduce impact on mother earth. I think it is important to plant trees and vegetable gardens as it has a positive environmental impact. Having been able to do this in many communities in South Africa I have created a footprint and a sustainable future for the next generation.”
